Hot Heal Care Companies To Invest In 2015

Although we don't believe in timing the market or panicking over market movements, we do like to keep an eye on big changes -- just in case they're material to our investing thesis.

What: Shares of giant tire manufacturer Titan International (NYSE: TWI  ) fell 13% today after being downgraded by analysts.

So what: Jefferies downgraded the stock from buy to hold, citing the probability of profit and sales pressure. William Blair also downgraded the stock to market perform and lowered its price target to $21.

Now what: At The Motley Fool,we don't take analyst upgrades or downgrades very seriously because they just don't have much incentive to get ratings right. What we do know is that shares currently trade at 12 times trailing earnings, which isn't a bad value if revenue is at least flat. But the price of raw materials miners around the world are producing have been down and it wouldn't be surprising to see a decline in revenue. The spending spree in mining may be over and that would be a good reason to sell the stock today, not just the downgrade of two analysts.

Another stock that looks poised for a major breakout trade is Uni-Pixel (UNXL), which manufactures electronic film products using its proprietary manufacturing process, UniBoss, and delivers its products to the display, touch screen and flexible electronics market segments. This stock is off to a decent start so far in 2013, with shares up 23%.

If you take a look at the chart for Uni-Pixel, you'll notice that this stock has been uptrending for the last two months, with shares moving higher from its low of $11.39 to its recent high of $18.33 a share. During that uptrend, shares of UNXL have been making mostly higher lows and higher highs, which is bullish technical price action. Shares of UNXL recently pulled right back to its 50-day moving average at $14.91 a share, and the stock has now started to bounce strongly off that level and move within range of triggering a major breakout trade.

Traders should now look for long-biased trades in UNXL if it manages to break out above some near-term overhead resistance levels at $18.33 to $18.67 a share and then once it clears its 200-day moving average at $19.07 a share with high volume. Look for a sustained move or close above those levels with volume that hits near or above its three-month average action 1.27 million shares. If that breakout triggers soon, then UNXL will set up to re-test or possibly take out its next major overhead resistance levels $25 to $30 a share.

Traders can look to buy UNXL off any weakness to anticipate that breakout and simply use a stop that sits right below its 50-day at $14.91 a share. One could also buy UNXL off strength once it takes out those breakout levels with volume and then simply use a stop that sits a comfortable percentage from your entry point.

Innovation: Innovation is a major priority at AT&T. And so far, it looks like the company is making savvy moves, particularly with its push into the cloud. To this end, AT&T has rolled out NetBond, which involves alliances with top providers like IBM (IBM), Microsoft (MSFT), CSC (CSC) and Equinix (EQIX). But perhaps the most interesting growth initiative is Digital Life, which allows customers to use their smartphones as remote control devices with homes and cars. All in all, the opportunity could be huge, adding another nice revenue stream — AT&T already has agreements with companies like GM (GM), Ford (F), Nissan, Audi, BMW and Tesla (TSLA)

Investors have pushed Microsoft's board in recent months to look for a turnaround expert, such as Mulally or Computer Sciences (CSC) CEO Mike Lawrie, to succeed Ballmer. Some investors have also suggested to the board that co-founder Bill Gates should step down from his role as chairman, saying he stands in the way of radical reform at Microsoft. Microsoft remains highly profitable and last month beat Wall Street's quarterly profit and revenue forecasts. But it has lost ground to Apple (AAPL) and Google (GOOG) in mobile computing. E6 and E7 are oncogenes that play an integral role in transforming HPV-infected cells into cancerous cells. In March 2011, it initiated a randomized, double-blind Phase II study of VGX-3100 delivered using the CELLECTRA intramuscular electroporation device in women with HPV Type 16 or 18 and diagnosed with, but not yet treated for, cervical intraepithelial neoplasia (CIN) 2/3. The study is designed to enroll 148 subjects. In January 2011, it announced the publication of a scientific paper in the journal Human Vaccines detailing potent immune responses in a preclinical study of its SynCon vaccine for prostate cancer targeting two antigens, prostate specific antigen (PSA) and prostate specific membrane antigen (PSMA).

In January 2011, the Company announced the regulatory approval of a Phase II clinical trial (WIN Trial) to treat leukemia utilizing its new ELGEN 1000 automated vaccine delivery device. Follow-on Stock Offerings From Small Cap Biotech Stocks. Thanks to the boom in biotech IPOs along with the sector overall performance, already listed biotechs have the option to ask investors for more cash in the form of a follow-on offering. Recently, FierceBiotech.com noted how four small cap biotechs raised $276 million from follow-on offerings in just one day last week. These small capsincluded Epizyme Inc (NASDAQ: EPZM) which raised $88 million, Halozyme Therapeutics, Inc (NASDAQ: HALO) which raised $100 million, Agenus Inc (NASDAQ: AGEN) which raised $52 million and Idera Pharmaceuticals Inc (NASDAQ: IDRA) which raised $36 million. FierceBiotech.com noted that thesteady flow of about $4.5 billion a year in venture cashalong withmore than $3.5 billion from IPOs last year plus all of thefollow-ons are helping to foster both company growth andaccelerate drugdevelopment programs. Mixed Bag for Biotech IPOs. Last Wednesday also saw two small cap biotech IPOs fizzle in one daywith small cap T cell vaccine developerGenocea Biosciences Inc (NASDAQ: GNCA) raising $60 million but then ending the day down 8.3% to close at $11 while Dutch drug developer uniQure NV (QURE) raised $81.9 million but fell more than 14% to $14.61. However, orphan drug stock Auspex Pharmaceuticals Inc (NASDAQ: ASPX), which is developingdrugs to treat orphan diseases like Tourette syndrome, saw a 30.5% gain to close at $15.66 and raise $84 million. The Boston Globe quoted Michael Ringel, a partner and managing director at Boston Consulting Group who focuses on health care business, as saying:

he mood is incredibly positive. Capital is flowing. [The biotech IPOs]have been burning hot. I think it too early to suggest that is changing. I can predict the overall economy any better than anyone else, but I would expect a pretty good year for IPOs./p>

The treatment will add to its quickly growing expertise in blood treatments and biologics. Speaking of which, Baxter and Halozyme (NASDAQ: HALO  ) had HyQvia approved for marketing in Europeearlier this year. The therapy boosts the immune systems of patients with primary and secondary immunodeficiencies, and combines multiple therapies -- both intravenous and subcutaneous -- into one subcutaneous product. It also allows patients to administer treatment at home every three to four weeks. In other words, it knocks the convenience category out of the park. Halozyme has had a tumultuous life on the public market, so this could be just the stabilizer shareholders need.

Halozyme Therapeutics (NASDAQ: HALO  ) isn't quite as close to commercialization. The company has a mid-stage study under way that combines its rHuPH20 hyaluronidase enzyme with a mealtime insulin analog. Halozyme's enzyme helps the insulin to be absorbed more quickly than it would normally.

The EMA's Committee for Medicinal Products for Human Use, or CHMP, also played a big role in Halozyme Therapeutics' (NASDAQ: HALO  ) huge Friday surge. The EMA's panel recommended Roche's Herceptin SC, which uses Halozyme's recombinant human hyaluronidase in a subcutaneous injection for patients with HER2-positive breast cancer. A typical infusion of Herceptin can take 30 to 90 minutes, whereas the subcutaneous injection can be delivered in a fraction of the time, two to five minutes. This new delivery method could save hospitalization time and money and improve patient comfort. It could also be a transformative approval for Halozyme.

We just gave a fresh synopsis of which telecom and wireless players could still be up for M&A in the final round of consolidation. American Tower’s market cap is about $28 billion and shares are up more than 4.5% at $71.75. To show how hard things have been, the 52-week trading range is $67.89 to $85.26. What today’s transaction does is quite simply add value to the rest of the public companies that own and operate cell towers:

Crown Castle International Corp. (NYSE: CCI) is up almost 2.5% at $70.90, against a 52-week range of $63.16 to $81.16. SBA Communications Corp. (NASDAQ: SBAC) is up about 1.8% at $76.70. against a 52-week range of $59.00 to $82.31.

American Tower expects that the portfolio addition will generate about $345 million in revenues and approximately $270 million of gross margin in 2014. If you value the deal solely on the 5,400 or so owned U.S. towers, this comes up to about $611,000 per tower before calculating the debt and other rights. Suddenly, SBA Communications Corp. (NASDAQ: SBAC) is vindicated because a deal it made in 2012 was deemed pricey as it paid about $1.45 billion for 3,252 towers from TowerCo, at about $445,000 per tower. Crown Castle also has spent close to $2.4 billion to acquire T-Mobile cell tower rights in late 2012.

The housing sector's slow recovery appears to be gaining ground, and homebuilders like PulteGroup (NYSE: PHM  ) Ryland Group (NYSE: RY  ) recently reported gainsin first-quarter revenues and substantial increases in sales prices due to rising demand. The U.S. Census Bureaureported that housing starts for March were well over one million, nearly 47% over that for the same time last year.

One of the most famous scenes in the cult classic, the Graduate, was when Mr. McGuiretook Dustin Hoffman character aside and said"Ben, I want to say one word to you, just one word: Plastics"; but what about the Berry Plastics Group Inc (NYSE: BERY) and its performance verses that of theiShares S&P 500 Index ETF (NYSEARCA: IVV), iShares Russell Midcap Index Fund ETF (NYSEARCA: IWR) and iShares S&P SmallCap 600 Index ETF (NYSEARCA: IJR)? I should mention that plastics and the Berry Plastics Group was not the place to be yesterday as the stock took a tumble on reduced guidance.
